Claude Chavasse is a private detective in Paris specialized in infidelity love case. He is hired to entrap a wife suspected to have an affair with the middle-aged american playboy Franck Flannaghan. The husband tells his plan to kill him. Ariane, the detective’s daughter heard it and go to tell it to M.Flannaghan. He seduces the young woman easily. She falls in love, but hides it and claims that she has got a lot of lovers and that she is not interested in him. M.Flannaghan is getting jealous about the past of the young woman and hires the detective Chavasse to investigate about her. When M.Chavasse realised the mysterous woman is his daughter, he asks Flannaghan not to break her heart and leave her alone.
This movie is not the most famous of Audrey Hepburn, but it is in my personnal opinion a very good love comedy. I really enjoyed it, Audrey is just perfect, Gary cooper so sexy, and Maurice Chevalier so sweet in his role of the doting father ! All the story is funny, romantic !
